Meet My Pets

That is our Pussy 

The little Cat.

Often she is busy

After a rat.

Tom is my dog

Always alert.

Sits on a log

Ready for a hunt.

Kajoli is our cow 

Like a loving mother.

God only knows how

Milk comes from her udder.

These animals so dear

Around us we find.

Giving them a little care

We should never mind.

EXERCISE

1. Learn the meaning of the following: 

A) hunt  milk  mind  dear  bat

     aunt   silk   find    near   mat

     fund   film  kind    fear    mat

B. Pets are our friends.

     We care for the pets. 

      Is a pet an animal or a bird ?

Answer: We can keep both animal or a bird as our pet.

C. The name of the dog is Tom

The dog is always alert.

Mother loves us.

Pussy is always busy.

Kajoli gives us milk

A) What is the name of the cat?

Answer: Pussy is the name of the cat.

B) What is the name of the cow?

Answer: Kajoli is the name of the cat.

C) Is the pigeon a pet?

Answer:  Yes pigeon is also a pet.

 

3. Fill up the blanks:

(i) A cat runs after a rat. (rat/dog)

(ii) A cow is like a loving mother. (father/mother)

(iii) A dog is always alert for an enemy. (a friend/an enemy)


4. Re-arrange the words into meaningful sentences:

(i) my, tom, is, dog.

Answer: Tom is my dog.

Answer: Kajoli is our cow.

Answer: Pussy is our cat.
