Sub: No Bus Stop in our locality causing great inconvenience.

Sir,
Through this column of your esteemed daily I would like to draw the attention of the concerned authority towards a serious issue faced by our locality. There is no bus stop within the radius of two kilometers and the citizens are left to suffer by the concerned authority.
In the modern era, connectivity is the first condition for development. But our locality is regrettably lacking a good public transport system though our locality sits just two kilometers away from the heart of Dibrugarh Town. The local residents have to walk ahead a distance of two kilometers to catch buses for traveling. Our locality is situated just near the National Highway and therefore it could be easily connected just by establishing a bus stop by the authority. But they are completely unwilling to do so. As a result, the residents have to suffer from many issues. Many travelers miss the routine buses run by the Transport Department as they cannot catch them up in time. The senior citizens are worst sufferers, because for them the distance of that two kilometers is very painful journey. If the ladies have to catch a bus during the noon hours, they have to think twice before stepping out alone, because during noon hours there is not much crowd in the road and some roadside Romeos try to take chance of that time. So, in short, we are suffering a lot. But the concerned authority does not have a care.
In spite of our continuous approach to the Transport Department, the authority has not taken any action. Now the authority must wake up and take initiative to set up a bus stop in our locality. They must ensure setting up the bus stop or the Department shall be responsible for any evils caused by non-availability of bus stop.

Yours Faithfully
Mr. Malini Gohain

Sub: Frequent Power cut and voltage fluctuation in our locality.

Sir,
Through the column of your esteemed daily I would like to draw the attention of the concerned authority towards a serious issue faced by our locality. Our locality has been suffering from irregular power supply and voltage fluctuation, and the concerned authority is in sleeping mode.
Electricity is the fuel of modern day world, because today the mankind live a machine supported life and without electricity the machines cannot run and hence the mankind. But very unfortunately, our locality is not lucky enough to avail the twenty four hour electricity. The government now a days talk about connecting even the last corner of the society with the electricity supply facility. But the quality of service they are providing is quite miserable. Our children cannot complete their daily course as the supply of electricity is erratic. Moreover, during summers days, the electricity department let our locality to suffer a lot. We cannot even refill our water tanks and therefore for hours we have to face a painful scenario. The erratic power supply now halts the smoothness of our daily life.

We have made several communication to the electricity department. But the authority must be in deep sleep. Now we request the authority to take some necessary action. We urge that our old transformer must be replaced with a new one.

Sub: Nuisance of Loudspeakers.
Sir,
Through this column of your esteemed daily I would like to draw the attention of the concerned authority towards a serious issue faced by our locality i.e. the nuisance created by loudspeakers in our locality.
Peace is desired by one and all in the society. After a daylong hardship, a common man wants to spend a restful evening in his house in a peaceful environment. But, our locality is not fortunate enough to have that silent environment. As the season of Bihu is on, there are continuous organization of Bihu functions in our locality, one after another. In the name of Bihu, there is high volume playing of music overnight causing great inconvenience for the people of the locality. The senior citizens and the heart patients are worst sufferers. Even students are unable to complete their daily studies. Due to the playing of loudspeakers above the prescribed limits there is constant occurrence of sound pollution possessing a great threat to public health very sooner.
The administration must permit a limited number of celebrations of Bihu functions. There should be complete ban on playing loud music after 10 PM. The organizing committee should also understand our pain and they must practice self-control in this matter.

Sub: Poor road condition of our locality.
Sir,
Through this column of your esteemed daily I would like to draw the attention of the concerned authority towards a serious issue faced by our locality i.e. the poor road condition in our locality blocking connectivity with the outer world.
Roads are the basic structural requirement for development of any society. But, our locality is not fortunate enough to have a road in functioning condition. The roads is broken at several places and has big ditch like whole in middle of the road. The PWD does not ensure proper maintenance and they have left us to suffer in it. Everyday hundreds of people have to go to their destination through this road. School students have to suffer because of a pitiable road. No can think of driving a four wheeler over this road. Accidents occur very occasionally. Several people have already lost their lives in this miserable road.
The PWD is overlooking degradation of the road as they are not serious in their duty to ensure proper maintenance of the road. We put several letters to the authority in order to attract their attention, but our efforts were turned fruitless. Now, we demand that the authority should ensure graveling of the road as soon as possible.
